Ok so I have been snapped by a camera coming home from brighton, The road itself was a 30 zone I presumed it was maybe 40 not totally sure though and so I go 36/7 mph at 1am, Fog was very heavy but thought doing just under 40 with the conditions as they were, Out of nowhere a speed camera pops up and I did not even see the camera all I saw was the flash flash flash.

Any advice here? Are speeding tickets hard to fight?, I have been back to try and find the same camera and road I used again but failed :/, I def did not believe or know I was speeding until the flash's, Has anybody ever been caught by a speedcam in heavy fog and escaped the ticket being issued?, How do the cameras work in the sense of is it human observation with checking the offence and issuing the ticket, Or is it all automated?

Many thanks

Picture this tho -

I am driving down this hill and the fog has got so bad that I could only see the flash going of, I saw no speed signs or camera, Could only make out there was white lines on the road when being flashed and being on top of said lines.

I picture some one driving too fast for the conditions if the fog was as dense as you say...

It sounds like you were lucky to be caught by a camera that will just automatically enter you into the sausage machine of speeding enforcement. If you had been clocked by a patrol car a charge of dangerous driving could have been the result.

Nope def not, I am starting to think maybe it was wilson avenue and somehow I have thought I was in a 30 zone, Sorry guys I am very confused conditions was poor that night and am sitting here with my memory in absolute doubt :/

If you check wilson avenue and see the layout of that, That road and setup is whats in my memory, But am left confuzzled because I am pretty sure I witnessed my speed gauge at time of flahs to be 36/37, Could the heavy fog and hard concentration on navigating the condition have messed with my vision of my speed gauge? I mean wtf really..., Dam maybe not waste much more of your time guys and ill wait for the NIP which will explain where the heck it was and at what speed, I mean if it is 46/7 I am in disbelief I could get such an error wrong...

I will head back over there tonight with my speed cam detector apps and see if that helps search a few more roads, But if that fails then I will have to wait for the NIP and to see if I am going insane..., Who knows it might of been lightning lol

Just checked and wilson avenue does not have a speed camera so its official I have no clue as to where this offence occured, I have no other road in mind and could almost bet my savings on the fact that in my head the offence occured on wilson avenue, I have no other possible memory to anywhere else :/

If it was a patrol car, They would have had a hard time seeing me or my speed until they was literally passing me.

There doesn't appear to be a speed camera in Wilson Avenue...

No so that solves that one, Where the fog was so bad in places, It has me very confused as to where this could of been, I just reviewed all the suggestions again, But I am fairly sure that it was none of them, It was not in the town or very built up areas, I think ill still go for a drive later and check around for any other cameras, Who knows I might get hit with lightning again tongue.gif

Thanks for all your help guys, Ill post back if indeed is worth posting, Failing that ill return with the NIP til then the only clue I have about this offence is that I witnessed some flashes and it was very foggy, As to weather it was actually a camera or maybe supernatural only the NIP will confirm, If it never comes through then I can be happy with no points or a fine, But have a more worrying problem in the fact that maybe my marbles are about done....

Thanks guys

Not particularly helpful. Just don't post.

So it was the camera I pointed out in post#9 but then was discounted because the description of the road didn't match you recollection. The NIP is for a camera on a flat bit of road with the sea to one side, you said it was on a steep hill with grassland to one side. Why the vast difference?

If you don't then that's a whole new world of trouble.

Unless you want to ask for pics, then ensure you reply.
