The BBC have now taken an interest in parking penalties and appealing them. Can some senior BBC person have recently been whalloped by a PCN ? Surely not !
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42557198 The real issue is councils ignoring adjudicators when an appeal hinges on inadequacy of signs. There is also blatant gaming of the system by some councils, especially London councils. Appealing to adjudicators means the appellants have lost the discounted payment option, so councils always bat-off any informal challenges, knowing most people then cough-up even if their case is strong. |
