Hi, I have received a PCN from Hounslow council for being in a Bus Lane,
It was not deliberate, there were road closures and I was getting lost as the signage was poor, it was also at 20.39 and I was not aware that on this road they have a 24 hour bus lane restriction, but I was not aware I was in one anyway. I have played back the video evidence and looked at the pictures and I can not see anything that tells me I am in a bus lane. I can never manage to upload a file on to this forum. Would it be safe to put my reg and pcn number on here so that someone can look at it and let me know if it is worth challenging it? |

Use Tinypic.com to host your pics, and put the link here.
Also Hounslow Council still seem to have a flaw in their PCN wording - "Unless this PCN is challenged [...]" - I assume that will be on yours too. Also Google Street View link. |

Thanks markara
I have tried but not very good with technology and can't seem to figure it out... as for street view I cant really find a postcode for it the pcn states it was in Chiswick High Road J/W Homefield Road. On street view the bus lane is very clear although it is a long raod and I can only see part of it on street view. I did't notice on the night probably because it was dark and I was lost, but I can't spot any signs on the pictures or video but I suppose that doesn't matter. I can't see the wording that you mention on the pcn. This is just a long shot really to see if there is any ruling that the video or pictures should clearly show the bus lane signs but I guess it is just wishful thinking on my part |

is the junction of Chiswick High Road with Homefield Road (June 2017). Cannot see a bus lane though. For posting docs here try this Do not attach docs/photos, but use this method: Some are having problems with Tinypic at he moment.. try Flickr, where the BBcodes are concealed behind the curly arrow (click on it) for sharing. Photo or scan. see http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=36858&st=0 for how to do it. I use Tinypic for stage 2 with no problems. Thera are other sites, such as Flickr, which enable you to paste the BBCodes into your post here. STAGE 1 takes care of resizing. If you use Tinypic for Stage 2, on the left each image in Tinypic is a list of links. Highlight and copy the entire link 'for forums' from the list for each image - beginning with IMG and ending /IMG (include all the square brackets [ ] ), and paste each link into your post. Each copied and pasted link will embed a thumbnail link in your post. Using the attachment method is not advised as it means quickly running out of attachment space. Redact/obscure name, address, PCN number and reg.mark. LEAVE IN all dates/times; precise location, Contravention code and description. |

Well I am sure someone would have mentioned it if they thought I had any grounds for appeal on this pcn so I suppose I should just pay up and put it down to experience.
But if I can just have a moan, I am sure many drivers around that area especially those who don't know it know it very well have been caught out with this one... at the time had road closures around the Kings street area in Hammersmith I was driving around for about an hour trying to work out how to get my destination with the closures and saw several other drivers doing the same as me driving up one road finding a dead end and driving back down again trying another one and so on... on top of that having a 24 hours bus lane restriction I didn't know there was such a thing..... that council must be minted with all the pcn fines .... |
