Hi all,

I came home to a letter from Hillingdon council yesterday - in it was a Notice to owner for a PCN for parking “two wheels on the kerb in an area that isn’t a carriage way” - and they want £110!

This is a complete surprise, not only exorbitant figure but the fact that it’s the first I have heard about this PCN (no Ticket was put on the car on date in question) and the NTO doesn’t even mention any discounted rate! Just straight in demanding £110 out of nowhere...!

I Appreciate any help you guys can give on how I can try to fight this

Thanks

As explained I am grateful of all practical advice given in this thread regarding my PCN and I have requested the discount pending response from Hillingdon...

My only issue here has been the “tone” of the some of the advice (who’s side are some of you on??!) and the one nonsensical reply which was just rude and uncalled for.

For those who wish to give genuine advice support I wish you well and thank you!

Sorry if you feel aggrieved, but there has to be an element of "Devil's Advocate" in advice given; some are better at it than others. Advice is just that, you have the absolute right in law to take the council all the way to adjudication, but if you do, and lose, the full PCN penalty is payable, not the discounted amount. Most people never come on here they just cough-up and reinforce councils in some of their more dubious practices that this forum is designed to detect and prevent.

In your case, there seems to be nothing that would give you good odds at an adjudication. It is important that you realise that there are no sanctions on councils other than not getting the money, would that there were !! If I had my way, some would be in jail but there you are, Parliament passed the laws and regulations, so just be careful who you vote for in future.
