Credit to Gordon Exall and Civil Litigation Brief:

"In Aviva Insurance Ltd v Nazir & Anor [2018] EWHC 1296 (QB) His Honour Judge Gosnell (sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge) found the two defendants in contempt of court when they had taken part in a staged crash and attempted to claim damages. ...It transpired that West Yorkshire Police were conducting some unrelated surveillance."

Who ever said the police are never happen to be around when you need them?

Compare and contrast this with the actions of UKPC who were asked to release ANPR footage of a motorist at a McDonalds to tie it to a receipt found in a pile of rubbish in a fly-tipping case. UKPC refused and was taken to court and were fined £5.7k for obstruction.

The UKPC case demonstrated a complete misunderstanding of ANPR as operated by parking companies

The only records that UKPC would any longer possess would be the vehicles that had overstayed
Very likely that none covered the relevant period
UKPC only had to say so

I wonder what would have happened if there was just one vehicle on record
Would the council have aggressively pursued the registered keeper on the grounds that his was the only possible vehicle ?
