Hi all,

Just been pulled over at the roadside by some officers with a handheld device. Aparrantly I was doing 36in a 30, the stretch where it occurred was downhill and I was tethering the brake.

I was pulled into a car park and was told they wanted to talk to me about my speed, they said they were just advising me and then went to state about if school children ran out and my ability to stop. My name DOB and address was taken and nothing handed to me. I advised I understood and thanked them.

So is it just advice or will it go on my record, so if I’m pulled again they already know I’ve been spoken to.

Cheers

Sounds like your lucky day. If they are just giving 'advice' that will be the end of it.

(You probably know this but going downhill is not a defence to speeding)

Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it.

Almost wasn’t that lucky, when I pulled in the car park I blocked a guy coming out the space. I asked the officer if I could move to let him out, he agreed, I checked my mirrors and reversed unbeknownst to me a officer was behind in my blind spot (possibly bending down checking my car) and I nearly ran them over!

Apologised to her and she did laugh afterwards and said it’s cuz she’s short, I just said officer im not going to comment on that and get myself in trouble!

I did say i understand that 36 is also enforceable and thanked them for the advice. Guess I passed the attitude test

Tethering the brakes sounds interesting!

I think that would be called 'the gypsy's warning' - in other words, 'if we catch you again, you'll be prosecuted'.

Toss a coin in the air to work out whether or not it will affect the next time you are spotted speeding.
This time, a good result.
