Before the crossrail opened, double yellow lines were drawn on my road - Jessup Close.
This road prior to the yellow lines being drawn was very very busy, fully parked on every bay, every corner and every part of the road without lines.
Ever since the introduction to the double yellow lines, the road has cleared up, however the residents there that are allowed to park in the limited bays (including myself) now have to fight for those limited spaces.

Returning home one day, and cannot find a single bay to park in. Unsure whether I should park on the double yellow or not, I left and parked on a road called Maxey Road, just outside of my road (jessup close). Here there were empty bays. Now I got a PCN for parking there without the valid permit/paid voucher.

Now I am really annoyed because I cannot park on my own road due to all bays being occupied and I cannot park anywhere outside??
This is clearly poor planning from Greenwich Council, but they were adamant that I was in the wrong here.

I have already made an informal appeal and obviously it got rejected.. now given these circumstances should I proceed to the next stage or is it better off just just coughing up the 65 pounds?

Thanks for your time. unsure.gif

Well done !
So the council gave way, but this doesn't help you in the future from what I can see. Have any changes been made to the parking zones ?

I noticed that my permit is valid for several different areas surrounding Jessup close now, so this should in theory increase the parking capacity.
It is still inconvenient when its fully parked on jessup close, but at least I dont have to walk 15 minutes to the nearest non-CPZ.

hope this answers your question smile.gif

Yes. It looks like somebody has been kicked into action on the parking arrangements that were clearly unsatisfactory following the Elizabeth Line opening.

Good - pleased they backed down. Did they say anything in their letter or is it just a note of cancellation?
