Hi all,
apologies in advance being a first time poster if I’ve done anything incorrectly

I was seeking advice regards a parking charge notice I received, link to the pic is here
I was at this particular place on business and thought nothing of the parking signs up image here
I assumed that they were there as a deterrent for those parking on this bit of land but going elsewhere.
I would like your help please in structuring a letter to these people to avoid paying an unfair charge, it was issued on the 11th of this month and I have 14 days to pay a reduced charge.
As yet I haven’t responded to them in any form but will await the advice I receive on here before I do.
Thanking you in advance.
Adil

Online with screenshots is assured that it gets there.

Hi All, the following is what I received from them as a reply.. please advise further as to what to do as the letter seems quite threatening

Thank you for your appeal against the above PCN.We have carefully considered your appeal but on this occasion, I am writing to inform you thatyour appeal has been unsuccessful as a breach of the terms and conditions of parkingoccurred. The decision has been made on the basis that:Our records indicate that vehicle registration CEO7*** (as shown in the photographic evidenceabove) was not authorised to be parked at the location, therefore the above vehicle is inbreach of the terms and conditions stipulated on all signage displayed within the car park.Signage clearly states “AUTHORISED VEHICLES ONLY”It is the driver’s responsibility when leaving their vehicle unattended to observe the area andcheck parking is permitted. There is clear signage placed throughout the parking areas statingthat the land is private property and restrictions apply. The photographic evidence of your vehicle shows that you are within a clear view of one of themany warning signs throughout the development. All signage states the terms and conditions
of parking within the restricted area. Upon reading the signage you have contractually agreedto pay a parking charge fee as restrictions were breached. It is the driver’s responsibility toensure parking is permitted prior to leaving the vehicle unattended within the restricted area. Please note. You now have 14 days from the date of this letter to make payment at thereduced fee of £60.00. If payment is not received within 14 days, the fee will increase to the fullamount of £100.00.How to pay:Online: www.paymyticket.co.ukTelephone: 0845 463 4040 (24hr)Post: Payments & Collections, PO Box 3114, Lancing, BN15 5BRThe Independent Appeals Service (www.theIAS.org) provides an Alternative DisputeResolution scheme for disputes of this type. As you have complied with our internal appealsprocedure you may use, and we will engage with, the IAS Standard Appeals Service providingyou lodge an appeal to them within 21 days of this rejection. All PCN's will be uploaded to theIAS website by the end of this working day.If payment is not received within 28 days of the date of this letter then additional charges maybe incurred, for which you may be liable. The matter maybe referred for litigation in the CountyCourt which could result in a County Court Judgment being made against you. This mayimpact on your ability to obtain credit in the future. If you appeal this charge then you will lose the ability to pay at the reduced rate, in the eventthe appeal is unsuccessful, the full amount will then be payable. If you appeal and thensubsequently pay the charge prior to that appeal being determined, then the appeal will becancelled and you will not be given a further opportunity to contest the charge.Yours sincerely ******** DepartmentUK Car Park Management Ltd0845 463 5050Powered

You now ignore and wait to see what they do next. You will lose if you appeal to the IAS.

Could someone further advise what to do with this please, after my appeal which they turned down I ignored all letters but now its been passed to debt recovery.

This one is easy

Always file but ignore letters from DRP

It can't take anyone to court and it won't be recommending it either

If UKCPM takes you to court, DRP receives nothing

The amount is fake

Parking companies don't pay debt recovery agents £60 to recover £100, whether or not successful
DRP is paid a commission on what it recovers

The commission on £100, probably about £15, isn't worth the effort so DRP adds an amount that it thinks it can get away with

Ignore everything unless it's a Letter Before Claim

DRP sometimes sends fake solicitor letters on Gladstones notepaper

They are easily recognised because they still have the same reference number and tell you to pay DRP
