I was driving at 87mph on the motorway (speed limit 70)and have got a ticket for it 2 weeks back.
2 weeks after receiving the first ticket, I was driving within the city in the same region and have got a speeding ticket for doing 35 in a 30 road. Before I got a chance to send off the first paper confirming i am the driver I received the second one. My question is what will happen now? How many points will I get for each one? Will I be summoned to court? How much fine am I expecting to pay? (I went on a speed awareness course last year so that option is out for me) |

Both those speeds should qualify for a Fixed Penalty (£100 and three points).

Thank you. What about the law of paying a % of your salary?

Only applies if you end up at court. Can be avoided by taking the fixed penalty.
-------------------- Speeding tickets, like lottery tickets, are a voluntary tax. You don't have to get them.

Thank you. What about the law of paying a % of your salary? There is no such law, that is in the Magistrates' court sentencing guidelines, which only come into play, as you'd expect from the title, if the matter ends up in the Magistrates court. Your speed is below the guideline for when a matter would be referred to court and a fixed penalty is all but certain to be offered. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

As long as you have had your licence more than 2 years, then as mentioned above, should be 2 FPN's, each 3 points + £100
