Hello good people. Just looking for an opinion on this kind of parking. It’s not uncommon in my area to overhang the pavement but this is pretty bad as they go. I contacted the local council but they didn’t reply so asking if anyone thinks this is acceptable?
As a pushchair user it’s inconvenient. A wheelchair user might really struggle with this. Appreciate your view on this. |

Some of those are the small car "wheel on each corner" with little overhang. Still technically in contravention but wide footways, plenty of room for pedestrians, buggies or wheelchairs. Totally overzealous to penalise and a classic example of because they can not because it serves any traffic management purposes. |

I remember this from a couple of years ago: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/833624/pa...y-fine-motoring Perhaps the OP should move to Gants Hill! Funny you should mention that NewJudge. I read the exact same article when it came out, and the thing that struck me at the time was the article states the ‘drives’ were built in the 1940s. But were they originally small front gardens, that have since been converted to an inadequate parking space? That’s what seems to have happened in this case... Oh, and as an update, the wonderful Mr Mustard has advised to call Barnet council and they will ‘enforce’. This post has been edited by Starworshipper12: Thu, 24 Oct 2019 - 13:50 |

Speaking of parking on the pavement in London, what do you make of these bays in Romford, which appear to go on the pavement and in front of drives? https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5741756,0...6384!8i8192 I like the one to the right of the initial location, which appears to be half off and half on a pavement, with no dropped kerb! |
