One of our drivers turned right in to Whittle Arch. It was the first time he had been in the area
We received a PCN for entering a bus lane.

I have looked at the footage and their photos and I do not believe there is sufficient notice for a driver.
Here is the google link: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.4102901,-...#33;6m1!1e1

I accept that there is a sign to the far right - not the lane the driver uses.
But for a driver turning right:
- there are no prior warning signs of a bus lane,
- is no sign on the left hand side of the lane (that is visible to him);
- there no sign where the low arrow is on the right hand side of the lane he took
I do not believe there is sufficient notice for a driver. Any comments?

I have been sent the photo schedule. There are 8 signs. Only one of them can be viewed from the direct our driver took. That is the one on the far right of the whole of the bus lane.
Of course what the driver sees as he enters is a blue arrow directing him to the left hand side of the island.

Coventry PCNs are known to contain flaws esp the date of service. Check it out or post up the doc.

Thank Mad Mick, I have the numerous flaws identified. I just don't think that one sign on the far side of the bus lanes is sufficient warning for a driver. There is nothing on the nearside of the lane that he can see and nothing on the island dividing the lanes.

Whether the signage is adequate to meet the requirements of The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996
is a subjective view to be taken by the adjudicator. you have the evidence so will need to make your case

I helped an OP last year in Coventry, though not this location and he won on signage. We did a drive through on GSV of his route pointing out the lack of advance warning
and where they were sited they could be missed

We suggested where advance warning could be placed to improve the situation. This focused the adjudicator. The difference here you will have to overcome is that
your driver did have an escape route the OP in the case I mention did not.

Appreciate the input PastMyBest.
Don't suppose you have any documentation or adjudication number?
