Pretty dreadful case, almost certainly an impaired driver, second accident of the evening (having failed to stop at first) ran a red light and killed a young women, afterwards expressing the hope he had killed someone (even drunk/stoned that shows an unpleasant mindset).
Convicted of death by dangerous and failing to provide a sample. Jailed for 10 years and disqualified for 12 years 7 months. (Max sentence was 14 years but from June '22 is unlimited) As the starting point for the most serious offences is 8 years the Judge obviously didn't take it lightly especially given he plead guilty and got some discount. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-64449886 -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Yes that was in the article. To be honest had he shown immediate contrition and been cooperative he probably would have only actually served 3-4 years, but he was was sufficiently impaired to say just about everything needed to get a suitably enhanced sentence.

Although no longer a Tory voter, I was delighted to hear the new Deputy Chair supports capital punishment. Here's on to start off with.......... |
