Can anyone confirm if ParkingEye have a grace period at their camera controlled car parks?

I was dropping people off at a hotel which was annoyingly pay by phone. As my phone was dead and I was only dropping off, I figured it would be fine.

However a friend has pointed out they charge £2 for upto 20 minutes parking.

Technically I wasn't parked- I litterally stopped, threw them out and left.

Being a good citizen I called the hotel and offered to pay over the phone but was told it was too late- just wait and see if I get a fine! Needless to say if I get one the hotel will either be cancelling it or losing a not-significant volume of business, but I'm curious about the point of a grace period if there are charges for less than 20 minute stays.

I'm also unsure how I could accept a contract to pay said charges when the signs (which in fairness are very prominent) are only displayed once you've entered the car park and its too late, and how one is meant to drop off passengers at the hotel reception and not park yet pay this fee.

Academic in Scotland, you ignore all private parking tickets just in case you unwittingly reveal the drivers identity. Just as you have already in your post and they do read these forums ☺️ . Only the driver is liable, not the keeper.

If camera to camera was less than 10 minutes you shouldn't hear anything...

I'd not get into any interaction with PE... just the hotel.

And the car I was driving wasn't mine and I've gave no date/time/location info, so I'm comfortable saying here that this situation occured.

You may be comfortable but some of us arent. smile.gif

In the OP you used the word "fine".

This can be accepted from a newbie that knows no different but from someone that frequents the forums? You should know better.
