Hey all! I stupidly parked my car here because I saw the yellow lines had been scrubbed, there was no sign so figured it'd be fine. Do I have a leg to stand on appealing the fine? First seen: 15:45 Time of issue: 15:45 £70 charge unless I pay tonight in which case it'll be £35. I'm just so annoyed they got rid of the yellow lines - I was only parked here 10 mins. Thanks for any opinions in advance. - Kath |

Looks bang to rights owing to tactile paving for a crossing. Dropped kerbs for this reason need no signs or markings.
Post the full PCN and the google street view location. may be wrong contravention if it's raised not lowered. Reason for parking? Are those the council's pics - if not post them too. This post has been edited by stamfordman: Fri, 18 Jan 2019 - 17:25 |

Thanks for replying
PCN: VA02816329 I don't have any pictures from the council because the fine was attached to my windscreen. Reason for parking... popping into a cafe! https://www.google.com/maps/@50.8461676,-0....6384!8i8192 link on Google Maps |

Well it's a definite dropped footway crossing - you must look out for these. They don't all have tactile paving for blind people either...
Only chance may be a fault in the PCN - take pics of all it and post. Not worth getting council pics if yours show where the car was. This post has been edited by stamfordman: Fri, 18 Jan 2019 - 18:18 |

Here's the fine itself - looks like I'm going to have to just pay it before it doubles! |

You should also post the back of the PCN - we have eagle eyed members. Here's one of the council's pics that shows the contarvention is made out.

Well, I say you are bang-to-rights and would do well to pay the discount and not park by such crossings again or you'll get whalloped again and again.

There's a flaw on the PCN, it has on 0845 number on the rear that makes it invalid. For future reference, could people please check the list of known issues at http://bit.ly/2ALghSS before advising OPs to pay? While no "known issue" is a 100% guaranteed win, OP in this instance should have been able to make an informed decision.

Fair enough but I would not have advised sacrificing the discount to pursue this one on that basis alone. I know PMB is testing 0845 on a case he is supervising. |

Both I and CP have cases on the go on this issue. What we do know is that the adjudicator for one of them is taking the matter seriously enough to require further submissions from the council and Nottingham are dropping like hot potatoes before adjudication. and CP has a response from a council thanking him for bringing it to their attention and changing the number -------------------- All advice is given freely. It is given without guarantee and responsibility for its use rests with the user
