So i had a hire car back in august.
Little did i no i got a ticket violation 62. I never found on my windowscreen. Enterprise sent me the letter today saying they charged me £35 admin fee for ticket on 25th August. It is now the 15th October... anyway. The ticket is currently £135. My tire is on the line but the path is 3’m wide. there was no curb. path/ parking/ road was all same level. Can i appeal this!? I think its pretty ridiculous. Any advice would be great This post has been edited by Bill j: Mon, 15 Oct 2018 - 18:05 |

Not sure where the £135 figure comes from, post all the paperwork.

Sorry it is £130.
I dont have any paperwork didnt have the fine on my windowscreen when returning to car. Only found out today because enterprise sent me a letter to say they charged me £35 admin for the fine. The letter gave my council refrence code. It goes to £195 next week |

Car was hired in august. No idea i had the ticket i never saw it on my windscreen so must of been removed.
Received letter from enterprise today about the fine. Used info to log onto council website. What I'm asking is can i appeal because my wheel is only a few cm over the line not the entire wheel and the footpath is 3m wide so not causing any obstruction |

Enterprise have taken 6 weeks to tell me about the fine. Different problem. Im asking if i can appeal against the parking. Nothing to do with enterprise. Thats a different problem |

Im asking if i can appeal against the parking. YOU can't do anything. You don't have a PCN yet. Sorry, I don't have the patience tonight: I'm sure others will explain. Hang on. Is the address Enterprise have for you 100% correct? -------------------- |

Enterprise have a PCN, they've told you they will appeal it on the basis that they are a hire company. The council will then send you a PCN in your name, when you get your own PCN you can appeal. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Very confussed sorry You have to wait till the council send you a PCN in your own name, until then you don't need to do anything. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

OP, pl don't tell us our business!
Just answer the following please: Have you received a PCN in your name from the authority? Is the address in Enterprise's letter yours exactly? What are the last 3 digits of the citation number referred to in Enterprise's letter? What are the last 3 digits of the PCN on the council website? |

OP, just so you understand....
The Hire company get the first PCN because the V5C has their name and address on it. However, as a hire company, they can appeal on the basis they hired the vehicle out, but must supply the hirers name and address. If they do this, then PCN 1 is cancelled and a second PCN issued to the hiring party (you). Only at this stage can you pay or appeal. Some hire companies just pay the PCN and off charge it to the hirer. |

You can therefore see that the council website refers to the PCN sent to ENTERPRISE and has nothing to do with you because yours would have a different number.
What has happened is that you received a PCN on the windscreen - that you didn't find it is not the issue. The authority waited approx. 35 days and then sent the registered keeper - Enterprise- a Notice to Owner. This would take us to the end of September. Enterprise wrote to you on 5 October having received the NTO around 2nd. The NTO gave 28 days to pay, et voila you get to 30 October. Enterprise will have submitted reps and until these are accepted their PCN is live. Expect a PCN within the next 7-10 days. |
