NHS trust suspends a governor who dares to criticise the new parking regime, a regime so bad that people are queuing for up to half an hour to pay and thus in many cases increasing the fee due.

You would imagine that the whole purpose of NHS governors is to challenge the actions of the executive.

My wife was in for some day surgery on monday, I dropped her off in the morning no problem and returned to collect her in the afternoon. I took a good guess as to when she'd be released based on her messages to me and arrived in plenty of time to get parked and collect her, my plan being to pay to park in the car park and grab a quick bit there while I waited for her. 4 laps of the grounds later (6 different parking areas, not all available to me) not a single available parking space and queues just to sit at the barriers and wait for an available space just to get in to the car parks. By that time she was ready for release but they wouldn't without me being there, I couldn't be there as I couldn't park anywhere so a patient slot was being tied up needlessly.
Next lap around I just sat on the double yellows for a couple of minutes while the taxis that were blocking the 10min drop off bays moved enough to allow a car out and me to take its place, it took me 9 mins to get to the ward, collect my wife and get back to the car and she was moving fairly freely.
It's a crazy system.
