There's lots on the forums about the inadequate signage and lots of local press coverage about poor this is. I'll post a draft reply for comment shortly. Should I reference any of this media though?

And to complete the circle, the appeal was upheld and we won again.

Thanks for the support. Top Banana

Mr Maxchat, you have won this appeal.
There is nothing to pay and the authority will cancel the penalty charge

This is because the alleged bus lane contravention did not occur.

1. It is common ground that the vehicle was recorded on Oxford Street on 23rd December. I have watched the recording and can see the vehicle turns left as described at the junction.
2. Oxford Street from Whitworth Street West to Chepstow Street has a bus gate.
3. I have considered the signs on approach to the junction and on Oxford Street. I have read the findings of the Adjudicator Mr Knapp in MC01044-1808 about the signs for the bus gate located between Whitworth Street West and Chepstow Street.
4. I am not bound by Mr Knappā€™s decision. It doesn't create a precedent. I have nonetheless decided to follow it because I agree with it. I find that the signs were not adequate and therefore the alleged contravention did not occur.
5. This appeal has been won. Mr Maxchat has nothing to pay.
