Generated by the PePiPoo NIP Wizard v3.3.2: Wed, 30 Oct 2019 09:31:42 +0000 MY QUESTION: Does the speeding reading of 36 MPH tally up with the road markings? My understanding is that they are 5 ft apart. I think I can see the car covered 4 spaces, so 20 ft in half a second. Google tells me that 40 feet per second is 27.27 mph. Am I reading the markings incorrectly? Struggling to upload the files - I have tried to use the file uploader but it just blanks out without an error message... Thanks - I have added a link to the original post. I haven't measured the lines - 5ft came up in numerous google searches.

They are usually 2m, which gives 36mph.

You should be eligible for a course at that speed (no points, but costs about the same as the COFP). That is assuming you haven't done one within the last three years, and that the speed limit was 30.

Just used Google Maps to measure the lines and it looks like the lines are 5 feet apart, however the satellite image is not the best and it's possible the lines have been repainted since the image was made.

A trip with a tape measure is the only sure fire way. (Or ring and ask)

Hmm yes it looks like the lines have been repainted (June 2019 pic) https://goo.gl/maps/zzTMsH5E9kafPW8s8
I need to send the driver info back anyway which should give me time to measure the lines before deciding what to do |

If the obscured lines were 5 feet, the new ones do look like 2 metres.

Indeed, just what I was thinking, and if the lines are 2m then the radar reading is bang on. I will check but not hopeful!

How long should I expect to wait before getting the offer of a course or FP? Has been 2 weeks.

2-4 weeks from replying is fairly normal.
