Between 14:00 and 16:00 BST on Tuesday 17 April 2012 the Pepipoo server will be undergoing a core OS upgrade. This is necessitated by the current OS version reaching its End of Life date.

At some point during this process at least one reboot of the server will be required. If (as we obviously hope) all goes well then we do not expect the downtime to exceed 10 minutes. However if problems are encountered the downtime may be considerably longer; please note that in this event the fact that the server was still working after the scheduled end time would be no guarantee that it's not about to go down again. We'll update this thread with the status as the upgrade progresses.

If you're working on an epic post or PM during around the scheduled time of this upgrade we suggest that you copy it before making the post!

Regards,
Fredd

The first attempt at this wasn't completed successfully; a second try will be arranged at a later date. Until then the forums will be working normally.

The update has been rescheduled for 16:00 BST on Wednesday 18 April; if all goes well this time then we should be back online in less than an hour, but if there are problems it could take considerably longer. The forums will be taken offline shortly before the scheduled time, so please make sure you save any incomplete posts or PMs well before then.

We appreciate that this time isn't ideal for many people, but this update is considerably more involved than those we generally have to carry out so we need to do it during normal working hours when full technical support is available.

Fredd

The upgrade is now complete, and everything should be working OK again. If you do find that something's not working as before then please report it in the Website Design section.
