Hi all
I received a parking ticket for "entering and stopping in a box junction when prohibited". I scanned all pages into a PDF file and uploded I would be really grateful if anyone can identify any reason why we should not have to pay. If you are able to point me in the right direction of the relevant laws, that would be great as I like to refer to the law. I tried to get the video evidence from the website they providing and i can't get anything it gives me an error Your Penalty Charge Notice Number is incorrect. Please check and try again. [code 3] I double checked evryting i can't get the video to see what exactly happened Many thanks in advance for your help.

We must see the video as that is the sole evidence of the alleged contravention. There are experts on here who know all the ins and outs of obtaining it, so hopefully they'll come on soon and advise.
However, in the meantime, give us a narrative on how you came to stop in the box. The offence is entering and then stopping in the box due to the presence of stationary vehicles. |

For now, just do what Stamfordman said. You will need to give him the PCN number and the vehicle registration mark. Beware of confusing numbers and letters, like "O" (letter) for "0" (zero).

Well you weren't quick enough - should have made that exit space yours as when you entered the box it was free but you were dawdling in the middle. The smart car zooms past you and takes the space.
But there does seem to be a case that you were cut up so let's see what the consensus is. In fact it seems there was a gap in the middle and the smart car pulled over to the left for you. This is the position when you are just about to enter the box: This post has been edited by stamfordman: Sat, 7 Dec 2019 - 19:39 |

I reckon 5 seconds stopped which is at the top end of any de minimis consideration. Puzzled as to why you didn't slot yourself into the space that was available, as the little Smart car gave you room to do so. The video also shows you charging into the box behind another vehicle without any hesitation at all. If you do this a lot in London you will end up getting a lot of PCNs. YOu must have your wits about you, as every box junction is covered by CCTV. It is money for old rope for them so they make sure the cameras are everywhere.

You could argue that you wanted to move to the left but the smart car undertook you and if you had completed your intended manoeuvre, there would have been a collision, if that was your planned route.
But it's 50/50 at best whether this would work. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

I think you have a reasonable shot at being cut up given how fast that little car appeared on your left hand side.
