I’m just curious about this.
A route I’ve recently been taking involves a downhill stretch of a 30 that has one of those electronic ‘slow down’ signs. It tells me to slow down when my speedometer says I’m doing 30 or a fraction below. I discovered today that it turns itself off when approaching speed goes down to 25. Now it seems to me to be highly likely that speedometers are not spot on accurate, but what’s the margin of error? I was under the impression that I was pretty good at sticking to speed limits but if if I’m doing 30 when the speedometer says 25 that’s a bit worrying. OTH a solicitor recently told me that speedometers routinely display a faster than actual speed. So for example it it shows 30 you are probably doing 27 or 28. |

Bob Marley music affects GPS?? You need a minimum of 4 satellites for a GPS lock, so three little birds won't cut it. -------------------- Andy
Some people think that I make them feel stupid. To be fair, they deserve most of the credit. |
