This story was in the Sunday Times.

Times Article

If someone can get past the paywall and post article here, it may make an interesting discussion point for the community.

This is as far as I can read:

Judge awards driver £500 over parking company’s ‘abuse of process’.

A driver who was dragged to court over a £182 charge for pulling into a town-centre car park for 12 minutes has won more than £500 from a parking company in a quarrel that the judge likened to a Shakespearean grudge.

One Parking Solution, based in West Sussex, was ordered to pay the woman £529 by May 8 after its penalty was found to be an “abuse of process” by Judge Harvey at Lewes county court in East Sussex.

The deputy district judge said the dispute was one of thousands of “high-temperature” parking cases, typically “fought with the zeal of the mythical Fortinbras’s army portrayed in Shakespeare’s Hamlet”.

I'd guess it'll be in the local paper after the weekend; in the meantime someone seems to have posted the text on MoneySavingExpert site.

This was a case where I was lay rep.

The Judgment is dynamite = 68 paragraphs demolishing OPS' conduct. Useful for other PPC cases.

One Parking Solution were warned by the Judge that they may face an application for a civil restraint order, and various parties were 'invited' by the Judge to reply about the 'suspiciously bizarre' lease and the matters that arose.

Here is the (slightly redacted for privacy of the OP) judgment, handed down by DDJ Harvey:

Shame the Sunday Times article was so lightweight! The Brighton Argus are also interested.

Hi SRM, my missus alerted me to your thread on NSC, where I had a great read of this.

Well done, terrific stuff.

Excellent job, I’d love to see them squirm when he’s asking about the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in their presented ‘evidence’.
