Parking Eye took charge of the car park of the local gym, health centre and swimming pool a few months back. Since then I have received between 20 and 30 parking notices demanding payment. Each of these notices was incorrect and I appealed and they were cancelled. The stress and time wasted doing this has really done my head in. I have been fighting stage four cancer and have a blue badge. I always park correctly display my blue badge and enter my registration. Why do they keep sending the Parking notices? Is it a sinister scam in which they send out to everyone in the hope that some people just pay because they are afraid? I now have three more notices. Two are from are for a 20 minute drop-off when I was clearly parked in a nearby 3-hour space!! Now I did park in the 20-minute space on one occasion and overstayed by 29 minutes. I appealed because of mitigating circumstances. I went to the health centre to weigh myself and met a friend of mine and her young son. She was in tears and distraught because her father had just died of mouth cancer. I am a trustee at a local cancer group so I supported her. I stayed with her and her son before taking them to visit her new father's grave before dropping them off at home. She was in tears all the way. I appealed on the grounds of compassion but Parking Eye just want money. I am NEVER going to pay this scumbag company. I will seek legal advice with regards to suing them for constant parking notices when I parked correctly. I have already contacted my local MP and am considering contacting the media too. This **** is not doing my poor health any good. I am alone with my nine-year old son and may well cancel his swimming lessons because of the bombardment by Parking Eye. Thoughts and HELP please

If its not nuisance, then for psychological harm caused by negligence. Worth a go. I don’t know if you’re serious or trolling. -------------------- Moderator

As the parking is controlled by ANPR cameras they have no idea a BB is displayed. ...but from what I can gather the disabled bay is being enforced at 20 minutes instead of 3 hours? Yes, they have been sending me notices as if I have been parking in a 20-minute drop off zone when in fact I have been parked in a disabled space which has a 3-hour limit after I enter my reg number. If a park a long way away from the entrance in a normal space then I don't receive a parking notice but this defeats the object of having a blue badge. Hopefully, I will get a result with the land-owner |

If its not nuisance, then for psychological harm caused by negligence. Worth a go. I don’t know if you’re serious or trolling. She can make a DPA claim and add distress for being 'bombarded' worth a go. If she wants help, she can ask. If its not nuisance, then for psychological harm caused by negligence. Worth a go. Do you mean harassment? Under the equality act? No, she could make the standard DPA claim and then add distress, time spent dealing with tickets as well, I dont know what a DJ would say, though. If so it seems there camera's aren't configured correctly... Yes that seems to be the problem If you were parked in a dis' bay with your badge showing, why did they issue a ticket? What did the ticket say exactly? ps Sorry to hear about your health problems. This post has been edited by 4101: Tue, 20 Feb 2018 - 22:33 |

YIPPEE PROBLEM SOLVED.
Thanks for your help and advice. I contacted the land-owner and now have a white ticket. Also, they will contact Parking Eye and get my three outstanding notices cancelled. Plus I have been given the personal email of the person dealing with Parking Eye in case I have any further issues. Sorted and thanks to you all on this forum |

So it shows that if you are willing to fight then you are in with a shout. I am chuffed How did you get a ticket for parking in a dis. bay? I didn't get a ticket on my car. They sent Parking Charge notices to my address. I have had over 30 of them. A handful of them was because I had either forgotten to enter my reg number or had entered it incorrectly. The vast majority were for parking in a 20-minute drop off zone when in fact I had parked in a disabled bay and displayed my blue badge. Once I appealed they were cancelled. One was because I overstayed by 29 minutes when I did park in a 20-minute drop off zone. I appealed on the grounds of mitigating circumstances because I was comforting a woman whose father had just died of cancer. After explaining this to the land-owner all of my outstanding Parking charge notices including the 29-minute overstay have been cancelled. Plus a white ticket to park anytime. Good result. |
