This morning I was double flashed at on the M3 by the same camera whilst doing 72 or maybe even 73 mph. The double flash went off went off a second or two before I even went past the camera. There were other cars around me, but I’d say that I was doing a couple of mph quicker than them all. Does anyone know what this means?

This particular camera has flashed a couple of times before that I’ve seen when I’ve been a little further back.

So I have a few questions as I’m getting quite worried about it because I haven’t been driving for 2 years and am scared that I may lose my licence for this as I rely on my car heavily to get to work and back. What sort of penalty would I be looking at for this providing I have been caught speeding.

Thanks!

That excess would see a course offer or, at worst, 3 points £100.

If the (rear facing) camera flashed a few seconds before you had past it, then it's difficult to imagine how you triggered it.

So are all speed cameras rear facing then and can’t be triggered from the front before you go past it?

I've never seen a forward facing camera that flashes on a motorway.

Some SPECS are forward facing but don’t flash.

Motorway setups that flash only as passing...

Only a 14 day wait for the registered keeper will confirm for sure.

Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully the light was just flashing and I was unfortunate enough to be passing by when it did!

Speed camera lights don't flash like a beacon. Someone triggered it, but if you hadn't reached it it can't have been you.
As already mentioned, a 14 day wait to be sure.
