Hi guys, I've got a PCN for contravention code 28 today and I'm asking whether I should appeal it or not, since I'm not sure what to do. I've got tickets in the past where I know I've messed up and I've paid for it, no problem. But this feels a bit unfair, since I didn't know and there aren't any signs.
In the past, I've parked on this part of the road before without any issues, and the only time tickets were given were when motorists parked on the kerb.

I made sure to park off the kerb.

Many thanks for looking/reading and your time.

Edit: I've taken images to show my wheel was off the kerb, as I thought the contravention would have related to parking on the kerb. However, since this seems different, I haven't posted images of my vehicle. I can if need be.
Edit2: Added images now. Plus I'm looking to learn this process so I can be better informed the next time it happens and help out with others should the need arise.

Well you never know if you fight it all the way there's always a chance the council will mess up on procedure.

But that's all they could have to go on.

Does the area facilitate pedestrians crossing the carriageway - IMO and self-evidently yes.

But the OP wants to carry on. Their choice, we'll give them the best defence and help to lay potential procedural traps en route.
