Simple question. When you sell a vehicle and send off the V5 with the new keepers details are you notified by the DVLA that the change has taken effect?

Yes, you get a letter and of course you may also get a tax refund.

If you do not get the letter chase them..... 4 weeks is their normal deadline (though often quicker) IIRC.
Else risk joining the ranks of those getting PCNs or NIPs after selling the vehicle. Can do online and get an immediate email acknowledgement. https://www.gov.uk/sold-bought-vehicle |
