Hi everyone,
After looking on the net for help on this matter it all seems to point toward this great site so here goes, Had a letter in post this morning from lombard leasing company, they lease our works vans, basically it said they had recived a letter due to an incedent that the van in question had been involved in on the 27th april and i was the recorded user at the time, Nobody else drives the van so i guess it was me Attached was a copy of the nip that they had to fill in to say who was the driver at the time of the incedent and i would be recieving a nip in my name to my address soon, Where do i go from here guys? I already have 6 points on my licence and really could do without another 3 , It was in a remote area of town and i was doing 37 in a 30 at 5am in the morning Cheers |

When you get your own NIP come back here and complete the NIP wizard, including additional questions, nothing to be done before then unless you feel like asking them the actual date they received the NIP because unless they got it within 14 days it is not valid.

is there any way you can postpone them for that long to avoid being prosecuted Send the NIP back as late as possible. However, the timescales may not be on your side. Leave it too long and you face 6 points and a hefty fine for failure to furnish. -------------------- Moderator

If it was easy to get a time-out everyone would be doing it! The danger is that by delaying matters you prejudice your chance of being offered a speed awareness course without achieving a time-out.

So if they are going to offer me a speed aware course will it say on the nip theat comes to me?? Or do they only offer it once you have filled in the information to say that you was the named driver at the time?? Thanks |

Usually, it will only be offered once you've named the driver.

But once you have admitted that you was the driver theres no going back and you automaticaly get 3 points £60 or the course?????? Once you've named yourself as the driver, if you qualify, you'll receive a CoFP. If you qualify for SAC, you'll receive an offer for SAC too. You then choose to a) Accept SAC. b) Accept CoFP. C) Ignore all, and await summons to challenge in court. You can't be offered anything until they know whether you're elegible or not, which is why you name yourself as the driver first.
