Hi everyone
I was given a ticket last week I’d loaded my shopping n was just sat in the vehicle sorting phone etc I have been diagnosed a couple of years ago with adhd so procrastination and time blindness, innatentiveness play a HUGE part of daily life with this disability. I now realise why adhders are more prone to parking tickets . I did not see the parking officer until she popped out from behind my vehicle and I said I was just leaving but she said it’s too late n wasgiving me a ticket. I said I was just getting ready to drive away and not parked and was upset that she’d stood out of sight instead of making herself seen so I Cd have moved away immediately I asked why she did not just say to move? I stated I have a disability n that I had merely been preparing to move away . Not parked not absent from vehicle nor intending on being parked she said I Cd appeal I said that part of my disability wd mean I wd struggle with the forms and the whole process involved would cause huge anxiety n stress (in the past I’ve hidden letters n hid away n fallen into a very low type of depression due to feeling incapable of handling it ) So Ive ignored it since Wednesday (had lots of tears ) I’m now sat trying to compose something n try and face it Today is a better day This struggle is very real Can anyone help I’ve seen on the ticket it says my car is a Vauxhall.... it’s my partners car and it’s a Porsche (hence even more anxiety at him thinking I’m stupid and got a ticket on his car) If it has the wrong car does it stand? Do I still appeal in writing or ignore What is the best way forward? If I’d left the car parked I’d be paying it n kicking myself .. but feel really aggrieved that I was in the vehicle Any advice would be appreciated as I MUST tackle this now b4 my brain gets distracted n forgets Sorry it’s long another trait of the condition 🙄 |

As usual for this forum, please post up the PCN, all sides, with PCN Number and car details blanked out. Leave everything else in. Look at the first forum in the list for Pepipoo titled "Read This First" where you'll find how to post pictures.
In addition, a Google Street View link would be useful and telling us exactly where you parked on the GSV view. |

Try and get this in perspective - it's a parking ticket and not a serious offence.
I would ask your partner to help you. When we see the PCN and other details we can help further. We can say now that make of car is not a reason for them to cancel the PCN. Put pics on https://imgbb.com or such like. |

problem is you were in a resident's bay (with no permit presumably). They can ticket you when you are in car but it would have been nice to ask you to move.

The ticket was issued at 20 past and

There's two grounds on which to base a challenge, discretion, and the duplicitous wording of the PCN. But the council is unlikely to cave in easily so you'll have to be willing to take this to the tribunal.
