Erm why?
Complaint against the cancelling officer for being a condescending ****; stating that it was a 'discretionary cancellation and would not be repeated.' Eh? What, do they mean if I again park NOT in contravention they might not cancel so readily? I can just imagine how this pans out next. Someone dealing with the complaint also fails to look at their own photos and responds that they did indeed decide to just 'let me off'. If I'm right then a stage 2 complaint will follow against both officers. Whether it's NoAs or NoRs they need to stop this sh1t. There is zero acceptance of their error or any inkling it has been addressed to prevent it happening to myself or others again. They will only change if we pull them up on it imho. -------------------- |

Being charitable it's probably just template. But right to complain say on the lines of asking if this was a mistake.

Pursue it to the LGO if need be. Why public authorities are so reluctant to ever admit they did anything wrong is beyond me, in my line of work it's accepted that everyone can make a mistake, but if you try and cover it up or deny it that could cost you your job.

We see far too many rejections where the muppet has obviously relied on a template, even when it is clear that there was no contravention. I see no difference with an acceptance, if the CEO has fecked up, an apology and assurance that they will try to improve would go far further then "we may not cancel another time" |

Oh damn! Bad news.
They've apologised at the first attempt. I confess to being quite impressed. -------------------- |

You'll have to complain now about them being too efficient.

Ok, this is what I sent (c&p from e-mail)
I note your response, emailed to me today, cancelling the PCN. Please consider this a formal complaint against the author of that message. I note it appears on Waltham Forest headed paper and if indeed it was Waltham Forest and not NSL then please pass this complaint onto them. What am I unhappy about? The author describes cancellation as 'discretionary' ? This is both condescending and insulting as no discretion was required. The inference that you are somehow 'doing me a favour' is most offensive. Where is the recognition that my vehicle was NOT parked in contravention? Where is the reassurance that the CEO concerned, and others who may do the same, have been told of their error in order to prevent it happening to myself or others in the future? I look forward to hearing from you. and their response today > Thank you for your correspondence in regards to the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) as mentioned above. You comments about being unhappy about our previous response have been noted and raised. I would like to apologise for the previous response and the lack of clarity for the cancelation of the PCN. Upon further investigation the Suspension notice in question outside of 407 High Road, confirms suspension is valid from outside 393 to 401. I can confirm that the bays from 403 to 411 were not suspended therefore the PCN issued to you was in error. Once again we apologise for the lack of clarity and explanation in our last correspondence. They've actually got that slightly wrong. It was originally up to 401 but they've since added 403. They put the suspension notice on the only available post. Their first response, the cancellation, had been this > Thank you for your correspondence in regards to the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) as mentioned above. We have cancelled your PCN please be advised this is under discretion and does not set a precedence for future cases. This case is now closed. The following Google Streetview link shows nos. 407 and 409 and my vehicle was parked in the same position as the silver car in that link > https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5566556,0.0...6384!8i8192 Mick raised a point in another live thread on forum, as to whether they can suspend those bays at all? Note the DYs and complete lack of permissive 4 up signs. Other than that, in short, nothing to see here. This post has been edited by Neil B: Wed, 29 Jul 2020 - 16:06 -------------------- |

Mick raised a point in another live thread on forum, as to whether they can suspend those bays at all? I think that's debatable. I wonder what the TMO says. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
