Hello,

I received my first parking ticket last month for being stopped on yellow lines. When in fact I had pulled in to allow the car behind me to pass as to perform a 3 turn safely. Just my luck that the car behind me had a giant camera on the top of it so I then received a ticket.

I appealed it to he council before I knew this forum existed and got rejected. I'm now left with the option of £35 or the traffic tribunal with a £70 fee if rejected again so I'm after some advice as if I have any chance of winning the appeal.

I explained in my original appeal that I was doing it to simply perform a 3 point turn SAFELY, and that I'm in the car waiting to do so but to no avail.

I will attach a link with the documents and the video they provided. I can't tell from the video of I'm even on the yellow lines or if I'm completely stopped.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

When I asked when it needed to be submitted by I received this message back:

"At the moment the case is on hold for the authority to confirm the details on it so there is not set date for evidence at the moment. However it will allow the authority to decide if they are wanting to contest your appeal or not if they have access to all your evidence and submissions. Please upload these when you have them available. In the meantime we will up date you on the progress of your case as and when something happens. The Traffic Penalty Tribunal"

Wait to hear from the tribunal, if the authority contests the case they will normally email you to let you know. Or you can log onto the tribunal website once a week or so to check if the council has uploaded an evidence pack.

Let the council submit first, if the want to contest. That way we can rebut anything they say while making our points

I may be way off base here but I thought that the Government made using cameras for parking enforcement illegal in 2014, the CEO is now supposed to attempt to stick the ticket on your car.
