Hi,

I recently got flashed going 62 (not sure of exact speed but had my limiter set to 62) in a 60 in the variable section of the M1 near Luton Airport.

Has anyone ever actually received points/fine for this?

Thanks

No, not if it was a 60 and you w ere genuinely doing 62. The cameras have been on trial (not active) and flashing just about everything recently.

Nobody has ever been prosecuted for doing 62 in a 60, the threshold for enforcement would normally start at 68. So either the equipment was faulty or the limit was not 60 at the time. Until you have a NIP there isn't anything we can advise.

If your limited was set to 62, you would have been going slower than that. Even if that wasn't the case, Home Office Type Approval allows a margin of error of 2% up to 66mph, so there would be insufficient evidence to convict you anyway. If the speed limit was 60, then the chances of your being prosecuted are virtually zero.
