Hi all, I'm going to start right off with an apology. Because I don't have much time left and I only found this site today I haven't searched for an answer, plus I have an event on tomorrow and I'm really busy, so, sorry in advance. I got a Request for info to Identify driver letter for not wearing seat belt with time and date. A couple of clerical errors are there, it has my make and model as one word, and the road name is spelled wrong also. My 28 days are up this Sat, hence the rush. Just wondering what my options are with respect to this. Thanks in advance people.

Your opttions are to name the driver, or face prosecution for not naming the driver.

I see, not a great deal of options there then! Wasn't sure if the typos counted for anything. Cheers anyway.

Not at all, if it clear to you what vehicle it refers to and what road then you have no get out at all.
Even then this only refers to the request to name the driver and even without the road name at all you would know who was driving at teh time I would suspect. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Guess I'll just have to take it on the chins then. Clean license and wasn't speeding either, bugger. |

If you don't make any waves with the typos, it should result in £100 fixed penalty and no points
If you question them, the police will assume that you would reject the fixed penalty and won't offer it The maximum fine if you're prosecuted instead can be up to £500 plus costs and victim support charge |

You should get the option of an online seatbelt course that will cost £37 as an alternative to the £100 fixed penalty.
