Not looking for advice, just wondering if anyone else has had something equally as mad / non-nonsensical?
I was driving round a roundabout the other day (my right of way) and whilst on the roundabout a car edged out and 'bumped' my rear wheel arch. We pulled over and exchanged details all polite and normal. He'd bumped my car so gently there wasn't a mark on either car so I was surprised when he insisted we swapped details. Low and behold three days later my insurance company ring me and ask me why I'd reversed on a roundabout into someones car! Queue lots of time spent on the phone with my provider explaining that I didn't reverse on a roundabout, drawing diagrams and writing a statement! |

Had one years back when I was on third party insurance and it was my fault. All amicable at scene, exchanged details, neither myself or insurance company heard a thing from it. Can only assume the guy wasn't insured or something like that and was happy not to claim. Had this happen to me once. Hit a bloke from behind at a roundabout in Luton when I was young and hadn't yet learnt that people do sometimes stop at empty roundabouts. The car was a heap. I hit him squarely behind, bumper to bumper, but a massive lump of filler fell out of his rear wing leaving a large hole. He initially said we should call the police which I told him he was free to so do if he wanted, but then he changed his mind and just asked for my details (company car). We never heard back from him. I always assumed he either wasn't insured or decided I had improved his vehicle somewhat. |

And one from the other way around...
I once had a very (ab)used Transit, fully legal by the way, and some guy drove into it at a junction. I got out, looked, and asked if he could identify which dent he'd created as I had no idea. We shook hands and he went on his way. |

Going back to this ongoing situation: http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=120341&hl=
Turns out we've discovered he (oh what a surprise) lied on his statement to his insurance company, and claimed it's a one way road he was driving down! Erm, most definitely not. Needless to say the SiL insurance is now pursuing it with a bit more intent... |
