Good morning,

Hope someone can help me a bit, I am very worried..

I have my driving licence for 12 years now I never had any fines or other issues. Last Wednesday I was travelling on the M25 around 20:00h (quite motorway at this time), and in couple of sectors there was a variable speed limit of 50 and 60. As it was quite and no work road took place there I wrongly kept my speed between 70 and 80 MPH.

It was not completely dark but I believe I was flashed once (maybe twice).

If the speed limit was at 50 and I was travelling over 70, do you know what should I expect? I imagine a consideran fine, but also how many points? Do you think they can also ban me for driving this type of offence?

Any chance to attend to any courses to avoid a driving ban?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

A fixed penalty (3 points £100) would be issued for up to 25mph over the limit if caught.

Sounds too fast for a course - up to +10%+9mph inclusive.

Thanks for your reply JIc,

I have read about the 14 days that you have to receive a NIP. As my car is from a lease company I imagine this would take longer...do you know roughly how long should it take?

Thanks

14 days to the registered keeper, they have 28 days to reply, so it can take upto 2 months to you.
