I paid to park, and entered my reg number in the ticket machine, at Beales department store in St Neots Cambs on the 10th Feb 2018. Then on the 26th Feb I received a parking charge notice (dated 23rd Feb) from Britannia Parking stating that I hadn't paid to park. I was surprised and shocked since I had paid for parking and had not over stayed and unsurprisingly after more than two weeks I no longer had the parking ticket. Checking on-line the advice seemed to be to "ignore them" and they will go away. I subsequently discovered that there had been on going problems with the system at the car park and many people had been sent erroneous parking charges. Over the next few months I received several reminders but then they stopped. Until now. I have just received an exceptionally threatening letter from a firm of lawyers called BW Legal. I am now at a loss what to do. What is my best course of action, since I know I paid to park and it is unthinkable for me to pay a fine that is wrong?

Nosferatu1001 - sorry but I can't seem to edit the original post. I have asked the Mod about this.
Ostell I am using the details on the form. I obtained a Government Gateway ID and can now access the site. I will therefore do as you have advised this evening. |

Nosferatu I believe all my posts have been edited. Apart from the first which has no "+edit" button so I cannot edit it. I do not know why. I have asked the Mod to do so but so far nothing has been done. I have been busy and unable to draft a defence but intend to do so this weekend. I will also response on the moneyclaim website now that I have access. Thank you to everyone for all your help so far.
I will respond with the Acknowledgement of Service this weekend. This post has been edited by Howard Roark: Sat, 16 Feb 2019 - 12:43 |
