Hi everyone,
I was flashed on the M25 around Epping anti-clockwise last Saturday night at about 1:10am at I believe 100mph, although I think I was at about 98..? (I have no idea literally, I could’ve also been doing 110. Who knows?) I certainly have no excuses for doing this apart from being tired, not checking my speed and having a 1.6l Diesel auto gearbox- the car reaches 100 just too easily. I was on lane 1’(or 4) the slowest lane with no traffic around me at all. The weather was very good. I’m used to passing those cameras at around 80-85mph at night and never seen a flash, although I have been flashed 2 times in the past around Heathrow doing 80+ but never received an NIP. However this time, I must’ve been doing 100mph if not plus and I’m stressing out a lot. Mainly because of my dad (I’m 20) will be the first to see the letter, he will kill me and I’ll loose all trust and confidence he grew for me until now. Personally and mentally, I am ready to taken on any punishment the court has to give me but I’m not ready to take on my father’s anger at all. Sorry I’ve diverted a bit from the topic but going back to it, considering the time of the incident, traffic conditions and weather, will the judges be considerate or the fact that I’m 20, have had my licence since November 2015 will affect their judgement? I also have 3 points on my licence, back in January, an average speed camera caught me doing 59 instead of 50. And when shall I let my insurance know about my points? I also do need my car for work but I will be able to prove that on a letter. If I was to receive an NIP, do you guys think I should enclose an apology letter? Thanks in advance guys for your answers, I’m stressing out too much at the moment This post has been edited by DavinciGod777: Mon, 9 Jul 2018 - 09:23 |

Hi everyone
Thanks to all for your comments. It's now been over 2 weeks (22nd July) and I did not receive any NIP. I'm of course not happy or grateful of this but a little bit relieved as I do almost 1200miles on average every month. I am now much more gentle on the gas pedal on the M25 especially when driving at 2am. |

.... and I’m stressing out a lot. Mainly because of my dad (I’m 20) will be the first to see the letter, ..... If the car is registered to your father, then he should receive the notice .... If your Dad is the RK, he will need to complete the S.172 naming you. You will then reeive your own NIP. Just before you totally breathe a sigh of relief, who is the car registered to and how long have they owned it? |

I still live with my father today. I’m having half a breath to be totally honest :/ Same here - I got flashed on the M25 at 1am doing 102mph. It's not fun, but I've kept my license! Did you receive an NIP for that? |

April 16 would normally be a '16 plate, any chance it was preregistered and the registration held elsewhere?

I’ve had 2 NIPs before to average speed cameras on the A406 59 instead of 50mph. I’ve always received my parking tickets at home. But this is the third time I’ve been flashed on the M25 although the first 2 were 55 instead of 50 (slow speed) but I was really expecting 1 for this time as I was at a significant speed. I’m not sure to be fair but all is in order with the registration of the vehicle. April 16 would normally be a '16 plate, any chance it was preregistered and the registration held elsewhere? The car’s front March 16, we bought it second hand with approx. 2000 miles on it. Yep. 6 points and a 260 quid fine. Pleaded guilty by post. This is really worrrying for me then, is there any way I could check out what’s happening? |

is there any way I could check out what’s happening? Simply put, no. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!
