Hi folks I hope you can help me.

I took a car from co wheels, a car club. The car was parked in a electric car park bay. After my booking, I returned the car back to the same location. A week later I received three fines from the car club, £35-70 for each day it was left there.

These fines also included a £20 admin fee from each ticket, £60 total.

I'm aggrieved because the I returned the car to the same spot in which I picked it up also the car is a hybrid, so it made sense at the time why it was parked there.

I'd like to appeal these tickets but Im not sure who to appeal to, council or the car club. I believe the car club best responsibility.

Any advice is appreciated.

Electric charge bays are not car club bays.

you need to talk to the car club and read the terms - a pick up location may not be the same as drop off one.

What have you recieved? If the car club have paid the PCN's and are now charging you, the council are out of the loop. If the car club had liability transferred to you then they are out of it and your recourse will be with the council

But we need to see documents

Electric car bays are generally for charging only. You shouldn't park there unless you are charging, and you should leave when you have finished charging.

As PMB says, if the car club have paid the penalties, then the Council will regard the matter as closed so no good contacting them.
The car club will no doubt have a clause in the contract you signed to say that you agree to them doing this, so I don't see much hope there either.
It may be worthwhile complaining to the car club that they should have transferred liability to you, but they're not legally obliged to do so, even if they had, you'd probably still be stuck with their Admin Fee.
Presumably all these PCNs were issued during your booking period, and couldn't have been incurred by the person who put the car in this bay prior to your booking?

If you want any meaningful advice you need to upload everything you've received, redact just name & address.
