Hello guys, just wondering are the M6 cameras live in Birmingham? I know that the West Midlands Police have taken down their fixed cameras like the big yellow boxes ( I think ) and replaced them with the mobile cammeras. Curious are their fixed cameras still live like the ones between J5 and J2 driving away from B'ham.( Southbound? ) I've noticed just before the m42 junction there's 2 yellow boxes on the left hand side of the gantry. I am wondering are those cameras still active because I don't see any lines/sensors on the ground.

Yes they are, it’s only the Gatso that are switched off not the HADECS on the M6.

Don't trust that all the Gatsos are turned off on urban roads either.
While most if not all have been for some time, there are average speed cameras on some main roads, typically stuck up lampposts and not easily seen.
And are live.... Hagley Road, Bristol Road, Lode Lane, Bromford Lane are ones I go past regularly.
