Hello guys. Its been a while, coinciding with the fact that i no longer drive into london to work Also just have been really adhering to the rules. And lo and behold I've had no PCNS!!
So this is actually an honest post, and i have also read a similar post regarding a bus gate in colchester. I found myself in an unfamiliar area, took a couple of turns, and found myself sailing through a bus gate which was well signposted - well, directly outside the gate. Its embarrassing yes but I'm being honest, i not that much of a fool to blatantly just drive through a bus gate but it happened, and now i have a pcn. It is only a £30 penalty, but i can't help but feel frustrated, i have been driving a good few years but the area just seemed like it was funnelling me toward this gate. Anyway!! if anyone could help i would be most grateful. https://buslanepayments.essex.gov.uk/GetVid...RFIXw%3d%3d.mp4 This post has been edited by captaincove: Sat, 5 Sep 2020 - 07:19 |

TBH I would pay the discount amount.
This is the core Order:- https://www.essexhighways.org/uploads/docs/...on-road-tro.pdf It has an exemption for loading/unloading but I guess that's only in the extent of this short bus lane. Mick |

So here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8852466,0...33;8i6656?hl=en
I can't see any basis to challenge the contravention, so a plea for discretion is all you've got. I would make a representation online on 17 September, the council has committed itself to re-offering the discount if you make a representation by then. If the discount is not re-offered, you then have a statutory ground of appeal (penalty exceeds amount due). There is also a possibility the council might mess up the response. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

I see what you're saying but I'm not sure I'd risk the discount on that alone.
