Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and from what I've read everyone's doing a wonderful job here. I received a parking fine from CP Plus on behalf of moto. Photos of my car and a charge of £90 (or £50 if paid within 14 days). I parked in the motorways services as was too tired to drive home so though I should take a nap. I slept through my alarm and I ended up being there 54 mins longer than the 2 hour period. I would have thought that road safety would take precedent. I haven't contacted the company and wondered what I should Do next. I read that a few drivers have had fines overturned due to sleeping too long and wondered if I should bother writing to them. Many thanks in advance, Julie x |

Of course road safety takes precedence over all unenforceable terms and conditions in a car park, the advice is to ignore if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle. If the invoice was issued on after the 1st October there are other things that could be done.

Indeed - any 'appeal' will fail...
When dealing with "tickets" from private parking companies (PPCs) . the simplest advice is to ignore them. Take a photo. Send it back to them with the photo of the car they sent you. Then just ignore everything else they send. -------------------- The Asda shopping trolley parking ticket enthusiast

Unlikely that CP+ would take this line but back in the early 90s a colleague in tech support told me an interesting story about one of his customers. The company supplied materials for the building industry and one of their customers was very slow to pay. They took the obvious step of refusing to supply until the previous invoice had been paid The customer sent them a photo of his cheque so they sent him a photo of his material Shortly afterward the builders went bust and the administrator turned up with the photo to demand the material |
