Hi,
Really not sure if this is the right place but here goes..
Now someone I know was employed by quite a big company that company gave him a sign written van (leased).. This company made this person redundant so they ceased working for this company the other day.. Yet this company van is still on their drive.. There has been no notification of any sort about when they are going to pick it up and tbh for all they know this person could've moved..
Can he charge them storage for this vehicle?
Can he clamp it on his drive until they pay the storage?
He has a new job now so when they eventually do come to get it he will be expected to be there so they will expect him to take time off from his new job..
He's not in the mindset of contacting them as the redundancy is so quite raw.

Many thanks for any advice 😁

Just had a thought, the van is almost definitely still insured on the company's policy so i see no reason why someone with DOV cover cant park it for the OP. mellow.gif

Technically, most, if not all, DOC cover states 'with permission' which they wouldn't have. As long as the space is outside the house though than the chance of anything happening, even to the ex employee, is next to nil. Or if they are concerned, then just push it onto the road instead.

Pushing the vehicle onto the road would still be use of the vehicle on a road for the purposes of the Road Traffic Act. However I do not see any possibility of an insurance company declining a claim in the event something were to happen while the OP moves the vehicle from his drive to the road outside his house, as it would easily be a breach of the Treating Customers Fairly principle.
