Hi there, hoping someone can help as i think I may have really messed up today.
I was at a right turn on the A4 going into Chiswick and I went over the line when the light was on green. By the time the van infront of me crossed the junction it was on red, however rather than creep forward to wait in the yellow box which would have been an obstruction i went during a gap in traffic. I was not in the junction yet but I was over the line. i think I saw a flash but can't be sure
I think now i should have just stayed put. Does anyone know whether i am likely to be NIPed?
Thanks,
MS

An offence occurs if any part of your vehicle crosses the stop line when red is displayed.

If you had fully cleared the stop line prior to red illuminating then you can progress whenever it is safe to do so.

Thanks, just to be clear where I stopped is attached. To turn right here once safe even on red is ok? if so do you know why I might have been flashed?

The sensors are at the stop line, to trigger the camera and flash something would have to cross them.

At that location you can’t trigger the camera, maybe someone went straight on on red?

who knows, I just thank **** it was not me as I am on 6 shaky points already. I feel sick with paranoia every time I drive anywhere unfamiliar these days.

Thanks very much!
