on a trip to london last week i came home to find i had commiting some box juction offence. i then looked up the junction and i find out that this tiny little box junction must be the most profitable area of real estate in london commanding over £1 million in fines a year in an area smaller than a lorries footprint.

so reading on here i sent off for the video of the infraction, cause well its seems a bit naughty and the photo showed the car infron moving over to the lane on the right

the video showed this too which blocked my exit from the box. also the second photo of the number plate was taking while my wheels were moving. so ive come to you people for any help.

heres the video here. my van is the silver one reg : LV62RCY its about half way in befor you see it. ironically the camera in the length of my video catches out 3 seperate vehicles falling for their money making scam, that many falling foul shows there is something seriously wrong with this box its a blatent money trap.

here oen of many stories on this junction

Well you're missing out on what could be a training video for YBJ CCTV operators - following another van into the box with no clear exit (for either of them), stationary fully in the box for about 24s. The video also shows plenty of other drivers demonstrating how you should use a YBJ, especially in London, unless you're wealthy enough that a steady stream of PCNs doesn't much matter.

The video makes for a great business model. Shocking income generated.
It seems the combination of the two ybj in close proximity and the multiple side streets make it appear easy to be caught. The sheer volume of cars in contravention raises questions but as Fredd said, equally shocking the number of drivers clearly just ignoring the box all together!
Looks slam dunk for the op unless theres a technical flaw

Ok it's downloaded now. OP is bang to rights - no excuse for not stopping at the edge of the box.

We've looked at this one many times of course. It's the double boxes - one outside fire station, the second for a junction where buses come out - that causes trouble as there is really only space for 2 normal size cars between the boxes. We have had some successes where there have been certain circumstances. Can't see anything here though.

cheers guys i was thinking i might have been impeded in going into the right lane by car in front deciding to block my exit from the boc. but of course i will take all your judgements and divvy up the 65 quid.

i think there are 3 people getting tickets in that very short vid. there is something not right about the set up here and is indeed a trap. being out of town i would have been an easy victim cheers tfl,

You are indeed an easy victim if you're outside London, because only London councils, and TfL can enforce YBJs and a few other traffic sign things because they have separate legislation. The powers exist in the TMA 2004, but have never been implemented outside London,

indeed i consider myself happy to drive anywhere and drive for a living for 30 years, but really im starting to find it not really worth it in london anymore from restrictive and costly parking everywhere, the encroaching catch you out culture of councils there its a whole new ball game to anywhere else.
