I have been driving around 30 years and never had any penalty points, out of fear and panic I filled in the NIP within 24 hours and returned to sender, they stated I was driving at 74mph in a 50mph limit - this was on the motorway at almost midnight on the M60 anticlockwise j16 and j15 , I am almost certain as is my passenger there were no speed restrictions at the time, I have asked the highways to send me evidence of the time of the alleged speed change to 50 mph but they have refused to supply me with this information , I was unable to recover my dashcam footage as it had been over written because i didnt receive the NIP until 17 days after the alleged offence,, it is all jus making me feel ill - as I do not speed/drive faster than the road limits . Is there anything I can do or is it to late ?

Then if thats the case - what is the point or purpose of SAR if youve almost a zero chance of getting it, sounds to me its a nonsense of red tape waffle that has no reason to exist

WHAT information do you want, you originally said ‘speed cameras’ so that would be an FOI unless you think you have a personal speed camera following you?

If it’s about YOUR CASE that would be a SAR but almost certainly covered by (and they will invoke) the exception.

If it’s about limits then it’s National highways and you seemed to have asked the wrong question.

It’s clear you still don’t understand the difference which is why I asked WHAT earlier on, that would guide which of the two requests it should be and who to.

I will pursue the FOI route, as a SAR iam guessing via the Police is almost certainly a lost cause.
,
Either way I think ive been wronged, and legal advice has advised me - now not to go the court route because of much severe penalties and fines. I just want evidence, and iam struggling to get it. I know people have been wronged before, only 1 mile away from where I live a speed camera was brought into question by a group of people and it was proven to be firing/flashing to soon and had to be reset. Technology isnt always correct, and neither are the Police.
