Hi Forums,
I would like to ask for advice on how to handle Parking Charge Notice from ParkingEye issued for overstaying 11 minutes at Gunpowder Park Lee Valley whilst myself and my family was helping to stop fire in the park. I have few more days left until the ParkingEye appeal window is closed. I am still waiting for the fire report from the local FOI/council. I called the owner of the land (Le Valley Park Trust) and they promised to help but I have seen no involvement from their side so far. Bets Regards Milo |

I don't know why you seem to be hesitating. You should send in an appeal.
You would get more help if you posted your PCN including dates etc. |

Just send the usual registered keeper appeal (NOT DRIVER) from the NEWBIES thread, online NOW.
Does the PCN have the POFA/29 days wording on the back and did it arrive by day 15? |

PCN arrived within 15 days from the overstay event, POFA is there, PCN says appeals must be received within 28 days from the date of initial correspondence. The only reason I have not yet appealed is I've been waiting for fire report from my local for office, not sure this is important at this stage as I hope the fire incident number is sufficient for ParkingEye. Will appeal online today and let you know the response.

Having looked at the generic appeal from Newbie thread @ MSE forums I'm not quite sure that is the best way to appeal in my case. IMHO I do have a valid reason to appeal (stopping fire in the park) which is provable. BTW, lesson learnt - next time I spot a fire on the landowner's carpark I will ignore it

In whic hcase, assuming they met the conditions to hold the keeper liable anyway, outing the driver with this direct accou nt is fine
mention "frustration of contract" to deal with an emergency situaiton. Earlier you get your side in, the harder it is for PE to complain. |
