Yes, been there done it myself; happened upon an incident round a blind bend, so I positioned myself suitably safely sufficiently far ahead of the bend in a yellow waitcoat. Motioned cars to slow down, not stop, and waved them through slowly, knowing 3 friends were round the corner marshalling traffic; one a serving fireman, the other two experienced motor-sport marshals. Everyone took heed, acknowledged me, and behaved sensibly with one exception; non-traffic police car, who promptly turned on his blue lights, accelerated round blind bend, on wrong side of double whites, overtaking previous vehicle and nearly had a head-on with someone coming the other way/ Ho Hum. I had that the other month, outside my front door. A parked car car-doored a cyclist. Said cyclist was flat out in left lane, ambulance was parked in centre of road. Paramedics being cautious about a head injury. This was five minutes before England played on a Sunday. So roads were very quiet. I stationed myself 50 yards up the road, before a right turn, to send oncoming cars around the block. No problems to most cars. The detour was trivial. Until some muppets in a BMW turned up. Probably in a hurry to see start of game. "I can squeeze through" "you aint got no right to stop me, you ain't the police!" etc. It was ridiculous. I thought they was going to get out of the car and lamp me! Luckily the commotion meant a few bystanders wandered over. And with a screech of brakes , off they f***ed.
