Hi Guys,

This is the second time this has happened to me now in about three years.

Been flashed by a speed camera in France (in both instances wouldn't have been more than 20km/h over the speed limit).

AVIS a month or so later have duly taken their processing fee to give my details to the French authorities, then after that in both cases, nothing ever appears on my doorstep.

AVIS have all the correct details for me, have checked twice, they say they don't know what happens past that point.

Do the French camera processing centres sometimes just not bother to process tickets when they are only slightly over the speed limit or am I missing something here?

Thanks

There is a process whereby an EU Authority can collect fines from people resident in another EU Country - whether the French actually decide to use it is (obviously) up to them - I suspect that if the cost of pursuing it is greater than the fines, they won't bother.

A quick google suggests that you are unlikely to see anything more.

Unless the law is changed, that process will be abolished in 19 days.

Just strange that the camera processing authority has been given my details twice and then decided to not even entertain sending a letter out, twice.

Both in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France if that matters, I understand they all go to the same processing centre anyway.
