Only doing 38 definitely under 40. Flashed.

What chances of avoiding ticket?

If anyone knows the area, its north road cardiff, just past Gabalfa flyover.

38 in a 40 - if I get done. See other post.

I understand its 50% of weekly salary now. Jeez. Thats hell of a lot more than before.

How do they calculate weekly wage? I'm self-employed sort of and pay an umbrella company to do my payslips. Or could I argue based on last years salary up till April 2017?
I dont have a fixed salary as such.

Or hope they do a speed awareness course in South Wales?

If you know you were speeding, you went past a speed camera and it flashed there seems a fair chance you will be hearing about it. If you are the registered keeper of the vehicle you have 14 days to wait to find out.

They are likely to offer a speed awareness course provided if have not previously done one for an offence in the last three years, South Wales and nearly all other areas offer courses, and for up to 42 in a 30 limit, failing that you would get a fixed penalty offer unless that would take you to 12 points or more.

That’s not how it works. One case, one thread.

Only if you go to court. For that speed you should get an offer of a course or a fixed penalty.

30 limit?

If flashed there's a good chance the driver has been caught. (Enforcement starts at 35)

35? Probably doing just over that. :-(

Right I see. So fixed penalty is still the same.. Was a bit worried then. Course then hopefully...

Is it an urban myth that sometimes they don't follow up the ones that aren't returned within 28 days and you get away with it?
Everyone seems to have a 'friend' who got away with it like this.

Form seems to imply you risk not getting a speed awareness course offer or possible further sanctions if there is a delay (I was 35 in a 30 zone).

But then that would be a bit unfair because it was sent to me regular post and I'd be posting it back regular post. Rate maybe but there are two chances for it to get lost.
I'd be unhappy if that genuinely happened to me.

Then again if they always follow up no point trying it on?

Almost unheard of these days. Everything is computerised so very rarely do any fall out of the system. IMHO, not worth risking 6 points.

Well there you go. Name yourself as the driver and the offer of a course should result, no point in any delay.

You have a right to take the matter to court. They've even thought about situations like this and can sentence at fixed penalty rates. However, you do not have a right to a course and the court cannot issue one.

Its a general non-case-specific question?

Ah probably best to suck it up then and do the course :-(

It as a general non-case-specific question?

Well, the thing is that this is a forum for advice on specific cases, non-case specific questions should go in the Flamepit forum part of this site. All of us are liable to be reminded of that if a specific case turns into a general discussion, and one can see the point, otherwise threads seeking specific advice would get lost amidst all the chit-chat. Oh dear, now we have are discussing board policy, not your case, I shall say no more.

Its a general non-case-specific question?

Either it’s linked to your ongoing case or it’s a random question which ought to have been posted in the flame pit.
