Please help got PCN today, is it worth contesting? Options

Hi there,

I came on this forum a few years ago and you guys were very helpful.. hope you can tell me if this is worth contesting or not..

62 4 Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than carriageway (all wheels on footway)

So I basically parked right by the sign thinking it covered the area directly below, but the white bay markings didn't start until the left of the signpost..

The time was ok, it was at 14:46, but I just wasn't in a white marked bay.. I did check at the time but did not check the white bay markings properly..
do I have any grounds for appeal? I think many other drivers have been caught at this spot for the same reason - the sign being in front of a bay which is not allowed..

Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated.

PS - i wasn't going to bother posting, but the lady in the shop i visited said that she has already had a ticket last week for the same spot, so i said i'd ask u guys.. so basically your answers will be helping 2 people, not just me as ill share your valued feedback..

photos attached - PS i moved the car from the spot so you can see the markings.. i was parked right in front of the sign.. the sign did not say to park inside the white bays..

If you are not minded to cancel the PCN, please would you provide the council resolution passed under section 15(4) of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1974 to permit footway parking along this section of High Road Leytonstone
