I guess it's just a courtesy to tell us, they still have to comply with the statutory timescales so no need to announce it at all.
Many councils may be doing the same thing and just chosen not to announce it. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

I've bin wondering on this sort of thing from council parking departments.
Even if nothing official from them, one has to expect that they will be struggling to process, reduced staff from self isolating (taking two weeks paid leave in some cases) This leaves things open to timing out, ie 6 months to issue an NTO or 56 days to respond to a formal challenge after NTO. And I suspect may lead to arguments with adjudicators as council will be claiming exceptional circumstances while we will be saying it timed out and regulations are regulations. |

…………. The TPT position is set out here the FAQ's for authorities answer's that question https://www.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk/d...thority_QAs.pdf May need to keep a copy of this bit..... QUOTE Q: The Council office has been closed and officers have no access to our back-office system, or cannot print documents to send. Can we freeze the sending of Notice to Owners (NtOs) and Notice of Rejection of Representations (NoR) letters? A: While Adjudicators have discretion to extend time limits in the appeal procedural regulations, any statutory time limits set for authorities for the service of notices by the enforcement part of the regulations cannot be extended. However, authorities have an inherent power to exercise discretion for motorists and vehicle owners to comply with requirements; for example, those making representations and paying. The authority will, therefore, need to decide how best to deal with PCNs that have already been issued My highlights |
